Taking part

Is this study right for me?

Is this study right for me?

Taking part in a clinical study requires careful thought. Before you decide, make sure that you understand any potential risks involved. There is no guarantee that you will benefit from taking part in the PHOENYCS FLY Study even though your lupus will be monitored by experts in this medical field. Members of the study team will be happy to answer any questions you have to help you make an informed decision.

PHOENYCS FLY Study

Can I join?

You may be able to join the PHOENYCS FLY Study if you:

  • Are aged 16 years or older (this may vary depending on where you live)
  • Were diagnosed with moderate to severe SLE at least 6 months ago
  • Are using at least 1 SLE medication (steroid, immune-suppressing drug, or antimalarial drug)

If you have answered “yes” to all of these, the study may be appropriate for you. There are many other checks to see if you can take part – the study team will discuss these with you.

What happens next?

What happens next?

If you meet the three main study criteria and are interested in taking part, contact a member of the study team at your local study center to discuss the study opportunity. If suitable, you will be invited for further tests and assessments to check that the study is suitable for you.

What is informed consent?

You will discuss the study with the study doctor and other study team members, who can tell you about it and answer any questions you may have. No study tests or assessments will take place before you have agreed to participate in the study and signed an Informed Consent Form (also called an ICF).

This document explains the study in detail, including potential risks and benefits, as well as your rights and responsibilities.

You can take as much time as you need to read and understand this form. You may wish to talk about it with other people (such as your family, friends, or family doctor).

The informed consent process continues throughout your study participation, and you are free to change your mind at any time.

Regular study check-ups

Regular study check-ups may allow you to get a better understanding of your overall health.
